Spicy Lamb Kebabs with Bell Peppers and Sweet Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb boneless lamb leg, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 8 wood skewers, soaked in water

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 Tbs hot paprika

  • 1 Tbs cumin, ground

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 sweet onion, chopped into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped into 1-inch pieces

  • Lemon

Perfect party food. Simple vegetable and lamb kebabs with a hint of bright citrus.

Directions

  • Toss lamb cubes with oil, garlic, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper; set aside for 20 minutes.
  • Thread onions, peppers, and lamb onto skewers; brush with olive oil.
  • Grill over hot coals (or a hot gas grill), or sear in an oiled grill pan over high heat until lamb is charred on all sides, 8 to 12 minutes.
  • Squeeze lemon over kebabs; serve over warmed pita or naan.
